HOLIDAY SET UP

Up to 20 days a year can be set as days to perform timer recording. Or you can specify up to 20 days when timer recording will not be performed during the programmed period by setting HR in the Program to Record menu to SKIP.

1.Press the MENU button. The Main menu appears.

2.Turn the JOG dial to select TIMER PROGRAM, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right. The Timer Program menu appears.

3.Turn the JOG dial to select HOLIDAY SET UP, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right. The Holiday Set Up menu appears.

4.Turn the JOG dial to move the cursor right to select the month you want, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right.

To erase the preset month and day, turn the SHUTTLE ring left while the month item is flashing.

5.Turn the JOG dial to select the day you want, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to set two or more days at once.

6.Press the MENU button. The day and time display appears.

SPECIAL DW SETTING

You can set the recording period by specifying the start and end day of the week for timer programming.

1.Press the MENU button. The Main menu appears.

2.Turn the JOG dial to select TIMER PROGRAM, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right. The Timer Program menu appears.

3.Turn the JOG dial to select SPECIAL DW, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right.

4.Turn the JOG dial to set the start day, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right.

5.Turn the JOG dial to set the end day, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right. The start and end days cannot be set to the same day.

6.Press the MENU button. The day and time display appears.

OVERLAPPING PROGRAMS

When the recording period of two or more programs overlap, the VCR always gives priority to the higher-numbered program.

WHAT IF THE TIMER RECORDING INDICATOR STARTS FLASHING?

Do the following if the timer recording indicator starts flashing:

1.Press the TIMER REC button to turn off the timer recording indicator.

2.The flashing indicator can mean:

A tape is not inserted. Remedy: Insert a tape.

A tape without an erasure prevention tab is inserted. Remedy: Insert a tape with an erasure prevention tab.

The day and time have not been set. Remedy: Set the day and time (refer to the Adjusting the Clock or Set the Day and Time section).

The timer program has not been set. Remedy: Confirm the program.

A menu item has been set (flashing). Remedy: Turn the SHUTTLE ring right to stop the flashing.

3.Press the TIMER REC button to turn on the timer recording indicator.
