ALARM RECORDING
When an alarm occurs, the VCR switches to alarm recording.
•Set the alarm recording mode and alarm recording period in the Recording Set Up menu. Refer to the Recording Set Up Menu section for field definitions and additional information and the Programming for Alarm Recording section for instructions.
•The index signal is recorded automatically when an alarm recording begins (INDEX indicator flashes on the fluorescent display).
•Even if an alarm recording is happening, a new recording starts when the second alarm signal is input. (However, if the interval between two alarm recording start times is too short, the second signal may not be detected during skip or index search. Refer to Table G.)

•An alarm recording continues until its end during timer recording, even if the timer recording end time is reached.
•An alarm recording is cancelled if the tape reaches its end.

ALARM RECORDING CONNECTION
You can confirm an alarm from a distance by connecting the ALM OUT terminal to an existing alarm system panel or other external device, such as a buzzer. Refer to Figure 3.
