Refer to the Connecting the VCR to a PC and Connecting to a PC for Remote Control sections for information about connection, protocol, data communication settings, and cable connections.

ASSIGNING THE RS-S32C SETTINGS

Assign the RS-232C interface board setting using the VCR’s on-screen menu, as follows:

1.Press the MENU button. The Main menu appears.

2.Turn the JOG dial to select CLOCK/FIRST TIME SET UP, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right. The First Time Set Up menu appears.

3.Turn the JOG dial to select RS-232C, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right. The RS- 232C menu appears.

4.Change the parameter value by turning the JOG dial left or right, and then turning the SHUTTLE ring right to store the new value.

Set all parameters for the VCR to the same values as the controlling PC or other equipment.

PARITY BIT cannot be used when DATA BIT LENGTH is set to 8BIT.

When controlling only one VCR via the PC, set VCR ADDRESS to NONE.

VCRs can be remotely controlled via a PC when each VCR has a unique VCR ADDRESS (from VCR01 to VCR255).

5.Repeat step 4 until all the items are set. The First Time Set Up menu appears after setting VCR ADDRESS.

6.Press the MENU button. The day and time display appears.
