5.Tighten the hex screw securing the caster headtubes.

6.Repeat STEPS 2-5 on the opposite front caster.

Adjusting the Wheel Lock:

A.Engage the wheel lock.

B.Measure the distance the wheel lock is em- bedded into the tire as shown in FIGURE 16.

NOTE: Any wheel lock adjustment should em- bed the wheel lock shoe at least 3/16-inch into the tire when engaged.

C.If necessary, loosen the two (2) hex screws on the wheel lock clamp and reposition the wheel lock.

D.Tighten the two (2) hex screws on the wheel lock clamp to secure the wheel lock.

E.RepeatstepsA-Duntilthemeasurementisatleast 3/16-inch and holds the wheelchair in position.

F.Repeat this procedure for the opposite wheel lock.

WHEEL LOCK ADJUSTMENT/ REPLACEMENT (FIGURE 16)

NOTE: Before adjusting or replacing the wheel locks, en- sure that the tires are inflated to the recommended psi on the sidewall of the tire.

1.Loosen the two (2) hex screws on the clamp that se- cures the wheel lock to the side frame.

2.Perform one (1) of the following:

Replacing the Wheel Lock:

A.Slide the wheel lock mounting bar out of the clamp.

B.Insert the NEW wheel lock mounting bar into the clamp and proceed to adjusting the wheel lock.
