NetBackupdeduplication components cannot reside on the

samehost as a PureDisk Deduplication Option (PDDO) agent.

Therefore,remove the PDDO plug-in from the host.

Removethe PDDO plug-in

Ifthe media server runs a version of NetBackup earlier than

7.0,upgrade that server to NetBackup 7.0 or later.

Upgradethe media server to

7.0or later

Inthe Storage Server Configuration Wizard, select

PureDiskDeduplication Pool and enter the name of the

Migrating from PureDisk to the NetBackup MediaServer Deduplication option

NetBackup cannot use the storage hardware while PureDisk uses it for storage.

Thestructure of the PureDisk storage is different than the structure of the storage

for integrated NetBackup deduplication. The disk systems cannot be used

simultaneously by both NetBackup and PureDisk. The PureDisk images on the

storage cannot be transferred to the deduplication storage server storage.

Therefore, to migrate from NetBackup PureDisk to the NetBackup Media Server

DeduplicationOption, Symantec recommends that you age the PureDisk storage

pool backups until they expire.
