ANSWERING SYSTEM OPERATION

At Cordless Handset or Touch Tone Phone

Call Screening

You can uses the cordless handset to listen to callers as they leave messages. You can speak to a caller by pressing P.

To monitor a call:

1If the handset is away from the base, press a.

2To end monitoring without taking the call, press aor put the handset in the base.

Recording Outgoing Announcement

1Connect with the answering system.

2Press *7. The system beeps to signal that it's ready to accept a command.

3Record your announcement.

4Press 5to stop recording. The system beeps and plays back your announcement, then beeps twice and is ready to accept a command.

Reviewing your announcement

1Connect with the answering system.

2Press 7. The system plays your announcement, then beeps twice and is ready to accept a command.

Recording a Memo

1Connect with the answering system.

2Press #, then enter the number of the mailbox where you want the memo recorded, and begin speaking after the beep.

3Press 5when you are finished.

Setting the Clock

1Connect with the answering system.

2Press *8. You will hear the current day, followed by “To change, press 6 or 4. To change the hour, press 8.”

3Press 4to move back a day, or 6to move forward a day.

4Press 8. The system announces the current hour setting, followed by “To change press 6 or 4. To change the minutes press 8.”

5Press 4to decrease or 6to increase hour.

6Follow the same procedure to change the minutes setting.

7The system announces the new time setting, then beeps twice to indicate it is ready to accept a command.
