Troubleshooting

If you still have difficulties after following the instructions in this section, disconnect the AC adaptors and turn off the handset, then reconnect the AC adaptors and turn on the handset.

Telephone

w is flashing.

LThe handset is not registered to the base unit. Register it (page 48).

LThe handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer.

LThe base unit AC adaptor is not connected. Check the connections.

I cannot make or receive calls.

LThe base unit AC adaptor or telephone line cord is not connected. Check the connections.

LIf you are using a splitter to connect the unit, remove the splitter and connect the unit to the wall socket directly. If the unit operates properly, check the splitter.

LDisconnect the base unit from the telephone line and connect the line to a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your service provider.

LThe call bar feature is turned on. Turn it off (page 27).

LYou dialled a call restricted number (page 32).

LThe key lock feature is on. Turn it off (page 14).

The unit does not ring.

LThe ringer volume is turned off. Adjust the handset ringer volume (page 25) and the base unit ringer volume (page 31).

The handset does not vibrate for incoming calls.

LThe vibration feature is turned off. Turn it on (page 25).

The handset display is blank.

LThe handset is not turned on. Turn the power on (page 11).

The handset will not turn on.

LMake sure that the battery is installed correctly (page 10).

LFully charge the battery (page 10).

LClean the charge contacts and charge again (page 10).

The battery should be charging but the battery icon does not change.

LClean the charge contacts and charge again (page 10).

LThe charger AC adaptor is disconnected. Plug in the AC adaptor.

A busy tone is heard when {C} is pressed.

LThe handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer and try again.

LAnother handset is on an outside call. Wait for the other user to complete the call.

Static, sound cuts in/out, fades.

Interference from other electrical units. LLocate the handset and the base unit away from other electrical appliances.

LMove closer to the base unit.

The speaker cuts in/out while listening to recorded announcements with the speakerphone.

LUse the speakerphone in a quiet environment, or turn the mute on while listening to recorded announcements with the speakerphone.
