Making calls
Using the handset Y
1Lift the handset and dial the phone number. L To correct a digit, press {CLEAR}.

L An available line is automatically selected and the line number is displayed. To change the line selection mode, see page 17.
L You can also select the line manually by pressing {LINE 1} or {LINE 2}.
3When you finish talking, press {OFF} or place the handset on the base unit or charger.
Note:
L The LINE1 indicator or LINE2 indicator on the
base unit lights up while using the handset.
Using the speakerphone
1During a conversation, press {s} to turn on the speakerphone.
L Speak alternately with the other party.
2When you finish talking, press {OFF}.
Note:
LFor best performance, use the speakerphone in a quiet environment.
L To switch to the receiver, press {C}.
Using the base unit [
1Dial the phone number.
L To correct a digit, press {CLEAR}.

L While on a call, you can switch from the base unit to the handset:
–Press {LINE 1} or {LINE 2} on the handset to select the line that is being used by the base unit, then press
–If the handset is on the base unit, lift the handset then press {LINE 1} or {LINE 2} on the handset within 3 seconds to select the line that is being used by the base unit.
Adjusting the receiver or speaker volume

Press {^} or {V} repeatedly while talking.
Making a call using the redial list
The last 10 phone numbers dialed are stored in the redial list in each unit (each 48 digits max.).

2{V}/{^}: Select the desired phone number.
3Proceed with the operation for your unit. Handset: {C}
Base unit:
Erasing a number in the redial list

2{V}/{^}: Select the desired phone number. i{ERASE} (soft key)

4Proceed with the operation for your unit. Handset: {OFF}

Pause (for PBX/long distance service users)
A pause is sometimes required when making calls using a PBX or long distance service. When storing a calling card access number and/or PIN in the phonebook, a pause is also needed (page 24).
