Using Bluetooth devices

Using a Bluetooth wireless headset (optional)

By registering a Bluetooth headset to the base unit, you can have a hands-free conversation wirelessly.

Important:

L Up to 2 headsets can be registered to the base unit. However, only 1 Bluetooth headset can be used at a time.

L For best performance, we recommend using a Bluetooth headset within 1 m (3.3 feet) of the base unit. A headset can communicate with the base unit within a range of approximately 10 m (33 feet).

Registering a headset

1Your headset:

Set your headset to registration mode. L Refer to your headset operating

instructions.

2Base unit:

{MENU}i{#}{6}{2}{3}i{V}/{^}: Add new devicei{SELECT}

3Base unit:

Enter your headset PIN.

L Typically, default PIN is 0000. Refer to your headset operating instructions.

4Base unit:

{OK}

L When registration is complete, ] is displayed. You are ready to use the headset.

Note:

L When you register a 2nd headset, the 1st registered headset is disconnected from the base unit. To use the 1st registered headset, change the headset connection. See “Changing the headset connection (when 2 headsets are registered)”, page 48.

Reconnecting a headset

If ] is not displayed even when the headset is turned on, the headset has been disconnected from the base unit. Reconnect the headset.

Important:

L Make sure that the headset is turned on.

Disconnecting a headset from the base unit (when using a headset with another Bluetooth device)

To use your headset with another Bluetooth device such as a cellular phone, you may need to disconnect the headset from the base unit.

3{V}/{^}: Disconnecti{SELECT} L ] disappears from the display.

Changing the headset connection (when 2 headsets are registered)

Only 1 headset can be used at a time. If the headset you want to use is not connected to the base unit, change the connection to that headset.

Important:

L Make sure that the headset is turned on.
