OPERATION

WARNING:

Do not allow familiarity with products to make you care- less. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury.

When replacing AAA batteries, the radio must be connected to a power supply using the AC power cord. Install new batteries within 15 seconds to avoid loss of clock settings and frequency presets.

Always use new alkaline batteries for replacement.

WARNING:

Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes resulting in possible serious injury.

WARNING:

Do not use any attachments or accessories not recom- mended by the manufacturer of this product. The use of attachments or accessories not recommended can result in serious personal injury.

WARNING:

This radio is capable of producing sound levels that can be dangerous to long-term hearing. Listening to music at high volume for any period of time can cause noise- induced hearing loss. The higher the volume, the less time required before your hearing could be affected.

APPLICATIONS

You may use this product for the purposes listed below:

Listening to AM/FM radio

Listening to MP3 players, CD players, and other audio devices

This product will accept Ryobi One+ 18 V lithium-ion battery packs and Ryobi One+ 18 V nickel-cadmium battery packs.

For complete charging instructions, refer to the Operator’s Manual for your Ryobi One+ battery pack and charger models.

BATTERY PROTECTION FEATURES

Ryobi lithium-ion battery packs are designed with features that protect the lithium-ion cells and maximize battery life. If the product stops during use, the battery needs to be recharged.

TO INSTALL / REMOVE AAA BATTERIES (INCLUDED)

See Figure 2, page 15.

It is advisable to write down stored frequencies before replacing the AAA batteries.

CAUTION:

Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

Open the battery door.

Depress the latch to remove the battery cover.

Install two new AAA batteries according to polarity indica- tors inside the battery compartment.

NOTE: Do not mix old and new batteries.

Replace the battery cover.

Close the battery door.

TO INSTALL/REMOVE BATTERY PACK (NOT INCLUDED)

See Figure 3, page 15.

WARNING:

Always remove battery pack from the product when you are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use.

To install:

Release the latch and open the battery door.

Place the battery pack in the radio, aligning the raised rib on the battery pack with the groove in the radio’s battery port.

Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack snap in place and that battery pack is secured in the radio.

Close and latch the battery door.

NOTE: Close the battery door to protect the battery port from dust, moisture, and debris.

To remove:

Release the latch and open the battery door.

Depress the latches on both sides of the battery pack to release and remove the battery pack.

Close and latch the battery door.

AC POWER CORD

The AC power cord can connect the radio/charger to a power supply when a battery is not available.

Always turn the radio/charger off before disconnecting it from the power source.
