Troubleshooting
Most cooking problems are caused by little things you can find and fix without tools of any kind. Check the lists below and on the next page before calling for assistance or service,
RANGE DOES NOT WORK
PROBLEM | CAUSE/SOLUTION |
Nothing works | • The range is not plugged into a properly grounded outlet (120v polarized). |
| • The range is not properly connected to the gas supply. Contact a Sears |
| Service Center to reconnect the range to the gas supply. (See the Installation |

| • A household fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has been tripped. |
| • The Oven and Cooktop Lockouts have been set. |
OVEN/BROILER BURNER
PROBLEM
The oven does not work
Burner makes muffled ticking noise when in use
The burner falls to light
The burner flames lift away from the ports, are yellow, or are noisy
CAUSE/SOLUTION
•The electronic control is not set correctly, Refer to setting the electronic oven control section. (See pp,
•A delay start has been set. Wait for the start time to be reached or cancel and reset the control.
•The main or regulator gas shutoff valve is in the off position. (See the Installation Instructions.)
•The Oven Lockout has been set.
•This is normal. This sound occurs when the oven burner cycles on and off to hold the set oven temperature.
•The ignition system is broken. Contact a Sears Service Center to replace it.
•A household fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has been tripped.
•The air/gas mixture is incorrect. Contact a Sears Service Center to check the air/gas mixture or see the Installation instructions.
