TO TURN MOWER ON

Insert safety key J-1into the switch housing, until it is fully seated inside housing. The mower is now operational and can be started by activat- ing the switch lever M-2.

DANGER: SHARP MOVING BLADE. NEVER ATTEMPT TO OVERRIDE THE OPERATION OF THIS SWITCH AND SAFETY KEY SYSTEM AS SERIOUS INJURY COULD RESULT.

ON-OFF SWITCH (BAIL HANDLE) - FIGURE M

Your mower is equipped with a special on-off switch system. To operate the system, first push button M-1on side of switch housing, then pull the

bail handle (switch lever) M-2 to the handlebar M-3. To turn the mower off, just release the bail handle.

Once the bail handle has returned to the original position it will activate the “Automatic Braking Mechanism”. The motor is electrically braked and

the mower blade will stop rotating in 3 seconds or less.

VARIABLE SPEED SELF DRIVE SYSTEM - FIGURE N

Your SPCM1936 mower is equipped with variable speed self drive. This

system is independent from the blade On-Off switch. It can be used with

or without the blade spinning. For example, when you have completed

 

 

yourcuttingstorageyour lawn,locationyouwithoutcan usehavingthe selfthedrivebladetomotorpropelon.the mower back to

 

 

To operate the system without blade spinning:

 

 

 

 

1. Insert the safety key.

2. Push the self drive bail handle N-4 to the handlebar N-3.

 

 

 

 

To turn the self drive off, release the self drive bail handle.

 

 

 

 

The system has variable speed. You can select the speed by moving the

 

 

 

 

selector lever N-5.

 

 

 

 

As you move the selector lever forward, the speed will Increase. Moving

 

 

 

 

 

the selector lever in a reverse direction, will decrease the speed.

To operate with the blade spinning:

 

 

 

 

1. Insert the safety key.

 

 

 

 

2. Push button N-1on side of switch housing, then pull the blade bail

 

 

 

 

handle N-2 to the handlebar N-3.

 

 

 

 

3. Hold blade bail handle in place against handlebar with right hand. Now

 

 

 

 

 

push the self drive bail handle N-4 to the handlebar N-3 with your left

 

 

 

 

 

hand.

 

 

 

 

 

4. You can hold both bail bars simultaneously against the handlebar with your left hand.

 

 

 

 

When you turn off the self drive, for example at the end of a row, it may become temporarily locked if you pull backwards on the mower. Simply

push ahead slightly and then move the mower as required.

 

 

 

 

 

During cutting, at times it may be easier to manoeuver around an object , such as a tree or plants, with the self drive off. The mower can easily

be used with the self drive off.

Your self drive has built-in overload circuit protection. If your mower

self-drive shuts off, release bail handle, wait at least 10 seconds, and try

 

 

 

 

again.

 

 

 

 

If you are cutting tall grass, slow the self drive to the lowest speed

The shield, along with the rear door O-2, minimizes the possibility of

 

 

 

accidental foot contact with the blade. DO NOT operate mower without
