Section 3 – Using The Scan Tool

THE SCAN TOOL

Serial Port (DB9 Male Connector) – provides a serial RS232 connection for a printer and for updating the software.

DLC Port (DB15 Male Connector) – provides connection for vehicle interface.

D	LCD Display – backlit, 4 line x 20 character with contrast adjustment.
E		key – goes to the previous screen or level.
F	BACK	arrows – scrolls UP or DOWN and moves the selection pointer ( ).
G	UP/DOWN/OFF						`

		arrows – selects responses and moves cursor ( ) in code lookup.
	LFT/IGHT					^
H	ERkey – accesses the Help Function.
	HLP	key – selects displayed items.
I	ETE	key – returns back to a function list or menu.						3
J	FUNC	key – turns power ON/OFF when not connected to vehicle.
