Ford Historic Self-Test Routines

	<YES>	NO~
If YES is selected, the following instructions will appear.
❒ Gently tap and shake the sensor.
❒ Wiggle the sensor connectors.
❒ Twist and shake the wiring between the s nsor and		he PCM.

	Press	to continue. The next instruction states: Beeper sounds a d mes-
	sage displayed while fault exists. Press			to Test and the test will begin
	to initialize.			ViewInstructions
	After the 10-second initialization period,
	the tool is ready for the Wiggle Test.
	Locate the suspect sensor or circuit
	according to the above instructions.
	If a fault is detected, the tool will beep
	and displays a FAULT PRESENT mes-
	sage. A DTC(s) will be stored in the PCM
	and in the tool. When done, press			For			WiggleTest?
	to return to the Ford Function List.
6	Perform the “ReadKOEOCodes” on page 6-1 to retrieve he DTC(s) set during
	wiggle test.
	After making all repairs, perform “EraseCodes” on page 6-6 o clear the mem-
	ory.
	Output Switch Test (EEC-IV Vehicles)
	The OutputENTERSw (Switch)Test, also known as the O					tput			Ch ck, is used
	to check the operation of the computer-ENTERcontrolled r					lays			nd solenoids on
	EEC-IV vehicles. The user can troubleshoot c rcuits							sing	voltm ter to mea-
	sure voltage at the relays and solenoids in both energ zed and non-energized
	conditions. All measurements should be recorded for							ef	rence.
	✓ Fuel injectors are NOT energized during this test.

	✓ On vehicles equipped with Integrated Vehicle Spe						d Con rol (IVSC), fail-
	ure to disconnect the vacuum supply hose from the							pe	d Control Servo
	energizes the Speed Control Solenoids.			Wiggle				Test Runing
	Select Output Sw Test from the Ford
	Function List and press		.
	Observe the screens and follow the							Status:
				***Fault					Present***
	instructions.		FUNC
	1) Set Parking Brake.									~

2) Put Transmission In Park Or Neutral.

3) Turn A/C Off.

4) Start Engine — Let Idle Until Hot.
