7Optional: Press the Framing softkey and select a value. In the decode display the chosen value will be displayed in light blue. However, if a parity error occurs the data will be displayed in red.

8Make sure the trigger or threshold levels are set to the middle of the signals:

For analog channels, turn the Trigger Level knob.

For digital channels, press the D15-D0key and the Thresholds softkey to access the threshold level setting softkeys.

9If the decode line does not appear on the display, press the up arrow key to return to the previous menu, then press the Decode softkey to turn on serial decode.

10If the oscilloscope is stopped, press the Run/Stop key to acquire and decode data.

If the setup does not produce a stable trigger, the UART/RS232 signal may be slow enough that the oscilloscope is AutoTriggering. Press the Mode/Coupling key, then press the Mode softkey to set the trigger mode from Auto to Normal.

You can use the Zoom horizontal sweep mode for easier navigation of the acquired data.
