Zoom mode

Zoom sweep is an expanded version of main sweep. When Zoom mode is selected, the display divides in half and the Zoom sweep icon displays in the middle of the line at the top of the display. The top half of the display shows the main sweep and the bottom half displays the Zoom sweep.

Zoom sweep is a magnified portion of the main sweep. You can use Zoom sweep to locate and horizontally expand part of the main sweep for a more detailed (higher-resolution) analysis of signals.

The following steps show you how to use Zoom sweep. Notice that the steps are very similar to operating the “delayed sweep” in analog oscilloscopes.

1Connect a signal to the oscilloscope and obtain a stable display.

2Press Menu/Zoom.

3Press the Zoom softkey.

To change the sweep speed for the Zoom sweep window, turn the sweep speed knob. As you turn the knob, the sweep speed is highlighted in the status line above the waveform display area.

The area of the main display that is expanded is intensified and marked on each end with a vertical marker. These markers show what portion of the main sweep is expanded in the lower half.

The Horizontal knobs control the size and position of the Zoom sweep. The delay value is momentarily displayed in the upper-right portion of the display when the horizontal position ( ) knob is turned.

To change the sweep speed for the main sweep window, press the Main softkey, then turn the sweep speed knob.
