7Click the close box to close the TCP/IP control panel.

If you have made configuration changes, an alert box asks if you want to save them. If you have changed the port, an alert box also tells you that the change will interrupt any TCP/IP services that are established. For example, you may have to quit and reopen a Web browser or e-mail software after saving changes.

8To save your changes, click the Save button.

Your changes take effect immediately; you do not have to restart your computer.

m using configurations, a way to save different TCP/IP settings and switch among them as desired

m using the User Mode command to change the availability of settings in the AppleTalk control panel

m turning TCP/IP off to save RAM when you are not using a TCP/IP network
