44 Using the answering machine

3.Press . The display shows TYPE CODE (0-9) 1234.

4.Enter the new 4-digit code you want. If you make a mistake, press to delete the digits.

5.Press . Display shows PLAY UNLOCK.

6.Press to return to standby.

IMPORTANT

For Remote Access to work, your

BT PaperJet 35 must be set to FAX/TAD reception mode. See page 35.

Toll saver

Providing you have set your BT PaperJet 35 to TAD/FAX mode, when you call your it from another phone your answering machine will answer after 2 rings if you have new messages. If you hear a third ring, you do not have new messages. Now you can hang up before you are connected, saving you the cost of a call.

1.Press repeatedly until the display shows TAD SET-UP.

2.Press then repeatedly until the display shows TOLL SAVER.

3.Press then or to switch between the options OFF or ON.

4.Press to return to standby.

Operating your answering machine

1.Dial your phone number. After your Answer and Record outgoing message, enter your Remote Access Code (default setting 1234) on your phone’s keypad.

2.Now use the buttons on the keypad to operate your answering machine. to play new messages

to play all messages

to play previous message

to skip forward to the next message

to delete all played messages.
