Selecting the Image Quality/Size

You can select the image quality of still images, and the image size of still images and movies.

Still images are compressed and recorded in JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group). Movies are recorded in Motion JPEG.

The number of still images and maximum recording time of movies that can be recorded on a memory card vary according to the recording condition. The estimated figures are as follows:

Depending on the number of images on the memory card (Windows: more than

1800 images; Macintosh: more than 1000 images), you may not be able to download images to a computer. In such case, use a card reader.

Connection to a PictBridge compliant printer will not work when the memory card contains more than 1800 images. For best performance, we recommend to keep the number of images on the memory card less than 100.

Users of Windows XP: When you plan to connect the camcorder to a computer using a USB cable, keep the length of one movie shorter than approx. 12 min. in 320 x 240 and 35 min. in 160 x 120.
