This system will not operate or may operate improperly with some MTP audio player.

For detailed information on the playable MTP audio players, see our home page: www.clarion.com

Notes on using MTP audio players

General notes

After the MTP audio player has been connected to this unit, the player’s buttons are disabled for operation.

When no data is present, the message “NO FILE” will be displayed.

The MTP audio player is used with the equalizer function turned OFF.

Notes on the MP3/WMA files

This system can play the MP3/WMA files stored in the MTP audio player.

For the MTP Audio Player mode, this system can play a file protected with the Windows Media DRM 10 if the player has the license key for that file.

Some files protected with the Windows Media DRM 10 may not be played.

This system cannot play movie files stored in the MTP audio player.

For the other limitations on these files, see “Precautions on the MP3/WMA/AAC files” (page 36).

Notes on the folder structure

This system can manage up to 512 folders (including root directory and folders with no MP3/WMA file).

The maximum allowable number of files in a folder is 255.

You can store the MP3 files and WMA files together in a folder.

Notes on the Tag titles

The limitations on the Tag titles are same as those in the MP3/WMA modes. See “Displaying MP3/WMA/AAC Tag titles” (page 36).

Folder representation in the folder list

The limitations on the folder representation are same as those in the MP3/WMA modes. See “Folder representation in the folder list” (page 37).

Selecting the MTP Audio Player mode

1.Connect your MTP audio player to the USB connector.

The system will automatically detect the connected device, and change to the USB mode (MTP Audio Player mode), and start playback after a while.

See also “Connecting/Disconnecting an USB Media Device” (page 22).

When an MTP audio player is already connected

1.Press the [SRC] button to display the Source screen.

2.Touch the [USB] key to select the MTP Audio Player mode.

The system changes to the USB mode (MTP Audio Player mode), and starts playback from the previous position.

Controlling the MTP audio player

The most operations in the MTP Audio Player mode are same as those in the MP3/WMA modes. See “Operating MP3/WMA/AAC playback” (page 37) for details.

Notes:

The playback speed of the fast forward and fast backward functions differs depending on the MTP audio player.

The fast forward and fast backward function will not work upon the files protected with the Windows Media DRM 10.

When you change the source mode to the other or turn off the power during playing back a track, and then select the MTP Audio Player mode again, the track will be played back from the beginning.

Though, the track protected with the Windows Media DRM 10 will not be played back automatically.
