NOTICE: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see "Before Working Inside Your Computer" on page 156) before working inside the computer.

1Follow the instructions in "Before Working Inside Your Computer" on page 156.

2Remove the hinge cover (see "Removing the Hinge Cover" on page 173).

3Remove the keyboard (see "Keyboard" on page 174).

4Remove the display assembly (see "Removing the Display Assembly" on page 176).

5Remove the palm rest (see "Removing the Palm Rest" on page 193).

NOTE: Remove the video card/thermal-cooling assembly as a single unit. Do not separate the thermal-cooling assembly from the video card.

6Loosen the four captive screws on the video card/thermal-cooling assembly.

7Lift the video card/thermal-cooling assembly from the system board.

NOTE: The appearance of the video card/thermal-cooling assembly may vary, depending on your computer configuration.
