NOTICE: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see "Before Working Inside Your Computer" on page 156) before working inside the computer.

1Follow the instructions in "Before Working Inside Your Computer" on page 156.

2Remove the hinge cover (see "Removing the Hinge Cover" on page 173).

3Remove the keyboard (see "Keyboard" on page 174).

4Remove the display assembly (see "Removing the Display Assembly" on page 176).

5Remove the palm rest (see "Removing the Palm Rest" on page 193).

6Remove the two M2.5 x 5-mm screws from the fan(s), and then remove the connector(s) that connect the fan(s) to the system board.

7Lift the fan(s) out of the computer.
