Diagnostic Tests
Diagnostic tests help troubleshoot the hardware and the firmware. The diagnostic tests provided on the switch include tests of internal connections and circuitry, fixed media, and any SFP modules and fiber optic cables in use. The tests are implemented by command, either through a telnet session or through a terminal set up for a serial connection to the switch. Some tests require the ports to be connected by external cables, to allow diagnostics to verify the serializer/deserializer interface, as well as the attached SFP and cable.
All diagnostic tests are run at link speeds of both 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps. For information about the specific diagnostic tests and how to run them, refer to the hp StorageWorks Fabric OS V3.0.x/V4.0.x Procedures User Guide.
Note: The transmit and receive speed of the links may be temporarily locked to a specific speed during diagnostic testing.
