Explanation | This problem is caused by the current generic SCSI driver in both supported Linux distributions, | |
| Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. | |
Workaround | Proceed as follows: | |
| 1. | Add a call to the HP utility hp_rescan by adding the following line to the file |
|
| /etc/rc.d/rc.local: |
|
| hp_rescan |
|
| This will update the file /proc/scsi/scsi. |
| 2. | Restart the host of the FSE server. |
| 3. | Invoke the following command to verify that the host sees the applicable devices: |
cat /proc/scsi/scsi
