During formatting, the FSE medium is partitioned into FSE medium volumes.
5.Once the medium is formatted, you must initialize the FSE medium volumes created on it. For more information on the FSE medium volumes, see ”FSE medium volumes” on page 98.
For regular initialization use the following command:
fsemedium
For forced initialization use the following command:
fsemedium
NOTE: You can execute both formatting and initializing at once by using the command fsemedium
6.Repeat the steps 4 and 5 for each additional FSE medium that you want to format and/or initialize. Using the FSE graphical user interface, you prepare FSE media as follows:
1.Start an interactive session with the FSE Management Console client.
For details, see section ”Using the FSE Management Console for configuring resources and policies” on page 42.
2.If not already connected, choose the online operational mode and connect to the FSE Management Console server.
For details, see section ”Choosing online operational mode” on page 43.
3.Expand the container Media Pools,
4.In the [ New Media ] window, enter the required parameter values into the available text fields.

5.Click OK.
6.Repeat the steps 3, 4 and 5 for each additional FSE medium that you want to add.
7.Physically place the added FSE media into free library slots.
