Managing the Battery

Installing the Battery

The HP iPAQ rx3000 series Mobile Media Companion has a small internal backup battery that allows you to change the main battery without losing main memory data (user-installed programs and data) as long as it is replaced immediately.

It is recommended that you fully charge the HP iPAQ battery before setting up the unit, and recharge regularly. Your HP iPAQ uses some power to maintain files in main memory and the clock. While working at your desk, keep the HP iPAQ charging. When you travel, it is recommended that you carry the AC adapter, Charger adapter plug, or an optional spare battery with you.

Your HP iPAQ is shipped with the battery partially charged.

To install the removable/rechargeable battery in the HP iPAQ:

1.On the back of the HP iPAQ, slide the Cover Release latch 1, pull the cover’s edge away from the unit 2, and remove the cover 3.
