Once the Lotus Notes database is installed, enable Netfinity
Manager systems to export to the Lotus No tes server.
• If the Netfinity Manager system is running Netfinity
Manager for OS/2, ensure that the Lotus Notes directo-
ries are included in the CONFIG.SYS file LIBPATH,
PATH , an d D PATH s t ateme nt s . I f t he di rec to rie s a r e n ot
incl ud ed in the se s t at em ents , i t is no t po ssi bl e t o expor t
to the Lotus Notes database.
• If the system is running Netfinity Manager for Windows
NT, ensure that the Lo tus Notes directory pa th is
included in the Global Windows NT environment set-
tings.
• If the system is running Netfinity Manager for Windows
95, en su re t h at th e L otu s N ot es di rec to rie s are in cl ud ed
in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file PATH statement. If the
directories are not included in this s tatement, it is not
possibl e to ex port to the Lotus Notes database.
Once these steps have been completed, export system
information from Netfinity Manager to an easy-to-browse
Lotus Notes database .
Browsing the Netfinity Manager Lotus Notes
database
To browse the data contained in the Netfinity Ma nager Lotus
No te s da tab ase:
1. Open the Netfinity Database object in the Lotus Notes
Workspace.
2. Sel ect fro m the View pul l-d own menu th e se ctio n of the
Netfinity Manager database to be browsed.
The N etf in ity Ma nag er da ta ba se is d i vid ed i nto se cti ons
that contai n data gathered by sp ecific N etfinity Man-
ager services. Click the name of the service that gath-
ers the data to be viewed (for example, Al ert Log s).
Note: Some menu selections will contain submenus.
3. In format ion contained in t he par t of the Netfinity Man-
ager databa se th at has been selected is now listed in
the window. For more detaile d inf ormatio n about any
displayed data item, double-click the data item.
4. Some data items can be expanded to reveal additional
information. These items are identified by a plus sign
(+) in the left side border of the Notes window, beside
the name of the data item. To expand the data item,
select the item and then clic k Expand in the View pull-
down menu.
ODBC database support
Netfinity Manager supports exporting data via ODBC for use
on SQL or DB2 database systems.
Note: ODB C database expo rt is avai lable only on syste ms
that are running Ne tfi n ity Manager.
