Note: This illu str ation depicts th e server in the upright posi-
tion. It is recom m ended t hat the server be place d on
its left side before performing this service procedure.

Þ2Ý Rear fan assembly
To replace the rear fan assembly, do the fo llow ing:
1. Pow er-off the serv er, if it is on.
2. Unplug the server.
3. Remove the left-s ide cove r (see Removing the sid e
cover” on page 44.
4. Tur n the server onto its right side so tha t the open left
side is facing up.
Note: Rotate the feet in toward the server so they do
not detach due to the weight of the serv er.
5. Remove the support bracket (see “R emoving the sup-
port bracket” on page 45) and air baffle.
6. Remove the fan cable from the system board.
