Purpose

Selects the print mode (Letter Gothic, Courier, or OCR) and

 

character pitch in characters per inch (cpi).

n ranges from 0 through 6 to select the print mode/pitch

 

combinations available from Table 8. All other values result in an

 

error message. (Command Line Error Messages are listed in

 

Table 2 on page 27.)

n = Pitch (cpi)

 

 

 

An asterisk (*) (hex 2A) may be substituted for m or n. Whenever

 

the asterisk replaces m or n, its current value does not change.

 

Values other than those shown in Table 10 and Table 11 are

 

ignored.

q = Command sequence terminator

NOTE: The print mode must be changed before the first printable symbol of a print line or the command sequence is deferred until the next line.

Comment P-Series PMODE switches to the Primary Character Set and selects print mode and pitch.

Print mode and pitch can also be selected from the control panel. The print mode/pitch select control code from the host computer overrides the control panel print mode setting and the print mode and pitch selection are reflected on the message display.
