Removing the hard disk drive

The hard disk drive must be removed before you can install memory DIMMs.

To remove the hard disk drive, do the following:

1.Remove the rear computer cover. See “Removing the rear cover” on page 37.

2.Disconnect the power cable and signal cable from the hard disk drive 1; then push connectors down through the opening in the hardfile bracket.

3.Release the hardfile bracket by pushing on the blue handle 2; then rotate the bracket up 3.

4.Unplug the remaining cables from the hardfile bracket 4; then remove the bracket and place in a safe place.
