Special Picture Playback

This unit provides special picture playback functions including still picture, frame-by-frame, slow-motion, and zoom.

Before using the remote control, press DVD so that the remote control works for the DVD player.

7Still picture and frame-by-frame playback

& During playback

To pause slow-motion playback (still picture playback)

Press 8.

To return to normal playback

Press 3.

Note:

You cannot listen to the sound during slow-motion playback.

7Selecting browsable still pictures recorded on DVD AUDIO

Most DVD AUDIOs include browsable still pictures (B.S.P.), which usually appear in turn automatically during playback according to the playback sequence.

You can change the picture (turn the page) manually when the current still picture has selectable pages.

& While the B.S.P. indicator lights up on the display

1Press 8 once.

Still picture playback begins.

2Press 8 repeatedly.

Each time you press the button, the still picture advances to the next frame.

To return to normal playback

Press 3.

Note:

You can also perform the above operation using 8 on the front panel.

7Playing back in slow-motion

& During playback

1Press 8 at the point where you want to start playback in slow-motion.

Still picture appears.

2Press ¡ or 1.

To play back in forward slow-motion, press ¡.

To play back in reverse slow-motion (for DVD VIDEO only), press 1.

Each time you press the button, the playback speed changes as follows:

Forward:

1/32 ] 1/16 ] 1/8 ] 1/4

] 1/2

Reverse (for DVD VIDEO only):

1/32 ] 1/16 ] 1/8 ] 1/4 ] 1/2

Press PAGE repeatedly to select a desired still picture.

Using the on-screen bar

1Press ON SCREEN repeatedly until the on-screen bar with pull-down menu appears on the TV.

2Press cursor 3 (or 2) repeatedly to move to PAGE in the pull-down menu, then press ENTER.

The following pop-up window appears under the pull- down menu.

3Press cursor (or 5) repeatedly to select the desired page.

To turn off the on-screen bar

Press ON SCREEN.
