high-denitiontelevisions.Thisconnectorenablesaplug-and-playsetupandsupportsadaptersthatcan
plugintoDVI,VGA,orHDMIconnectors.
TheMiniDisplayPortconnectorofyourcomputersupportsaudioaswellasvideostreaming.
Note:UseDisplayPortcertiedcablewithDisplayPorticon()toconnectthedeviceforstablefunctionality.

UsingtheThunderboltconnector

Dependingonthemodel,yourcomput ermighthaveaThunderboltconnect or.Itenablesyoutoconnect
yourcomputertoaThunderboltcompatibledeviceoraMiniDisplayP ortcompatibledevice,suchasCRT
monitors,LCDmonitors,projectors,orhigh-denitiontelevisions.TheThunderboltconnectorhasthe
sameappearanceastheMiniDisplayPortconnectorotherthantheicon.IfyouconnectaMiniDisplayPort
compatibledevicetotheThunderboltconnector,itgeneratesMiniDisplayPortsignalsautomatically.

Todisplayinformationandmakepresentations,youcanattachadataprojectortoyourcomputerthrough
theVGAconnectoronyourcomputer.
Note:Itmaytakeseveralsecondsbeforetheprojectordisplaystheimage.Ifyoudonotseeyourdesktop
displayedafter60seconds,trypressingFn+F7toswitchbetweendifferentdisplayoutputlocations.
Yourprojectormighthaveoneormoreaudio-inputconnectors.Toprojectsound,youwillneedtoattachthe
comboaudiojackonyourcomputertotheseconnectors,usinganaudiocable(commerciallyavailable).
UsingtheExtenddesktopfunction
Yourcomputersupportsafunctionnamedtheextenddesktop.WiththeExtenddesktopfunction,you
candisplayoutputonboththecomputerdisplayandanexternalmonitor.Y oualsocandisplaydifferent
desktopimagesoneachmonitor.
ConsiderationsforusingtheExtenddesktopfunction
•WhenaprogramusingDirectDraworDirect3Displayedinfull-screenmode,itisshownonlyonthe
primarydisplay.
•IfyouwanttoshowDOSfull-screenwhileintheExtenddesktopmode,onlytheprimarydisplayshows
DOS;theotherdisplayisblackedout.
•IfyourcomputerhastheIntelgraphicscard,youcandesignatetheotherdisplayastheprimarydisplay
bydoingthefollowing:
1.Right-clickonthedesktopandselectScreenResolution.
2.ClickthedesireddisplayimageandselecttheMakethismymaindisplaycheckbox.
3.ClickOK.
EnablingtheExtenddesktopfunction
ToenabletheExtenddesktopfunction,dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector;thenconnectthemonitortoanelectricaloutlet.
