YourcomputercomeswiththeThinkPadSetupprogramtoenableyoutoselectvarioussetupparameters.
TostartThinkPadSetup,dothefollowing:
1.Turnonthecomputer.Whenthelogoscreenisdisplayed,presstheF1key.TheThinkPadSetup
programmainmenuopens.
Ifyouhavesetasupervisorpassword,theThinkPadSetupprogrammenuwillbedisplayedafteryou
enterthepassword.YoucanstartThinkPadSetupbypressingEnterinsteadofenteringthesupervisor
password.However,youcannotchangetheparametersthatareprotectedbythesupervisorpassword.

2.Usethecursorkeystomovetoanitemyouwanttochange.Whentheitemishighlighted,press
Enter.Asubmenuisdisplayed.
3.Changetheitemsyouwishtochange.Tochangethevalueofanitem,pressthefollowingkeys:
•Fn+F6orthecombinationofShiftand+:Changetoahighervalue.
•Fn+F5or–:Changetoalowervalue.
4.P ressEsctoexitfromthesubmenu.
5.Ifyouareonanestedsubmenu,pressEscrepeatedlyuntilyoureachtheThinkPadSetupmenu.
Note:Ifyouneedtorestorethesettingstotheiroriginalstateasofthetimeofpurchase,pr essF9to
loadthedefaultsettings.YoualsocanselectanoptionontheRestartsubmenutoloadthedefault
settingsordiscardthechanges.
6.SelectRestart.Movethecursortotheoptionyouwantforrestartingyourcomputer;thenpressEnter.
