BeforeMakingYourFirstDirect ConnectCall

ForDirect Connect to be enabled on yourphone, it must be added to youraccount by a Sprint CustomerService representative. See “ActivatingYourPhone”on page 3.

RegisterandActivateDirectConnect

1.Confirm the Direct Connect feature is currently activated on youraccount.

2.Press >Settings>DirectConnect>UpdateDC.

This validates yourDirect Connect service with the Sprint Network and then restarts the phone.

3.Verify that Direct Connect is now active:

The icon should not be visible at the top of the screen.

Important	When the Direct Connect feature is active,
	both the On/Off and Net Guard features
	are disabled (Settings > More... > Data).

Note	IftheNetGuardfeatureiseverenabled,this
	indicatesthatDirectConnectionisnolongeractive
	onyouraccount.EnablingNetGuardcaninterfere
	withDirectConnectfunctionality.

AboutYourDirectConnect Number

YourSprint phone allows you two different options for yourDirect Connect number:

Separate numbers (DCOnly) —YourDirect Connect numberis a unique number(not yourwireless number). It will be made up of three sets of digits separated by asterisks (forexample, 444*5555*111).

A single number(Mobile+DC) —YourDirect Connect numberis the same as yourwireless number(for example, 555-555-1234).

If the person you are calling has a separate number forDirect Connect, make sure you dial any asterisks
