Security

Your subscriber identity module (SIM) card is locked by default, and you must enter a PIN to unlock it. Locking the SIM card prevents you and others from making phone calls until the correct PIN is entered. You can, however, still make emergency calls when the SIM card is locked. If you want, you can change the PIN number required to unlock the SIM card.

Lock the SIM card

1On the Home screen, select Start.

2Select Settings and then Security.

3Select Enable SIM PIN.

4Enter your PIN and select Done.

Note: To cancel without locking the SIM card, press h.

Unlock the SIM card

1On the Home screen, select Start.

2Select Settings and then Security.

3Select Disable SIM PIN.

4Enter your PIN and select Done.

Change the SIM PIN number

1On the Home screen, select Start.

2Select Settings and then Security.

3Select Change PIN.

4In Old PIN, enter the current PIN number.

5In New PIN, enter the new PIN number.

6In Confirm new PIN, enter the new PIN number again, and select Done.

Important: Be sure to make a note of your PIN. When the SIM lock is enabled, you must provide this PIN when you turn on your Smartphone to make calls.

View keypad lock instructions

1On the Home screen, select Start.

2Select Settings and then Security.

3Select Enable Keypad Lock.

4Select Done.

Enable GPS Lock

1On the Home screen, select Start.

2Select Settings and then Security.

3Select Enable GPS Lock.

4In Old PIN, enter your current GPS PIN.

5In New PIN, enter a new GPS PIN.

6In Confirm new PIN, re-enter your new GPS PIN.

7Select Done.
