Conﬁguring the dialing plan for PSTN access to SRG users inNormal Mode

Preparing to conﬁgure the dialing plan

Before conﬁguring the dialing plan for PSTN access to SRG users in Normal

Mode, you must complete the following steps:

•At the main ofﬁce, conﬁgure the Virtual Trunkto enable calls originating

on SRG IP Phones in Normal Mode to reach the branch ofﬁce. See

IP Peer Networking Installation and Commissioning (NN43001-313)

for details.

•At the main ofﬁce, conﬁgure trunks foraccess to the PSTN.

•Atthe branch ofﬁce, conﬁgure the Virtual Trunk to enable calls originating

on SRG IP Phones in Normal Mode to reach the branch ofﬁce. See

IP Peer Networking Installation and Commissioning (NN43001-313)

for details.

•At the branch ofﬁce, conﬁgure trunks for access to the PSTN.

•At the main ofﬁce, conﬁgure the branch ofﬁce zone properties in LD

117, excluding the ZACB and ZDP properties. See IP Peer Networking

Installation and Commissioning (NN43001-313) for details.

•At the main ofﬁce, conﬁgure the routing forPSTN access.

•At the branch ofﬁce, conﬁgure the routing to enable calls made from

TDM or IP Phones in Local Mode to access the PSTN.

•Conﬁgure IP Phones with the same zone number at both the main ofﬁce

and the branch ofﬁce. Nortel also recommends that the Prime DN be

the same at both the main and the branch ofﬁces. If different DN are

conﬁgured, the dial-in numbers change when the branch ofﬁceis in

Local Mode.

•Assign unique individual DN as Branch User Identities (BUID) to

Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) telephones.

Conﬁguring the dialing plan

The steps to conﬁgure the dialing plan for SRG PSTN access are:

•At the main ofﬁce—see Procedure 3 "Conﬁguring the main ofﬁce" (page

49).

1. Conﬁgure the ZACB property for the branch ofﬁce zone.

2. Conﬁgure the ZDP proper ty for the branch ofﬁce zone.

3. Conﬁgure the Route List Index.

4. Conﬁgure the ESN SpecialNumber and DigitManipulation.
