Setting Preferences for Your Handheld
Preferences enable you to customize the configuration options on your handheld. The options are grouped into four categories: General, Communication, Personal, and Other. Each category provides access to a list of relevant Preferences screens. Use Preferences to do the following:
■Access the General Preferences screens to customize any of the following settings:
Date & Time
Digitizer
Formats
Power
Security
Sounds & Alerts
Set the location, date, and time.
Calibrate the screen on your handheld.
Set the country default and the formats for times, dates, calendar, and numbers.
Set these features:
Set a password, privacy options, and locking options.
Select system, game, and alarm options from three profiles: Custom, Silent, and All Off.
■Access the Communication Preferences screens to customize any of the following settings:
Bluetooth | Turn Bluetooth communication on and off, assign a name to |
| your handheld, and configure device discovery and wakeup |
| settings. |
Connection | Configure communication settings. |
Network | Configure your handheld for use with a network. |
Phone | Select a connection for use with wireless data and phone |
| applications on your handheld. |
