Taking pictures with the built-in flash

You can adjust the intensity of the flash using [Flash Adjust.] in the [Rec] menu. (→153)
You can use [Flash Synchro] in the [Rec] menu to set whether the first curtain sync or
the second curtain sync will be used. (→152)
The effect of red-eye reduction varies depending on the subject and is affected by
factors such as distance to the subject, whether the subject is looking at the camera
during preliminary flash, and so on. In some cases, the effect of red-eye reduction
may be negligible.
If light from the flash on a subject is insufficient, neither the proper exposure nor White
Balance is achieved.
When recording with the flash, white saturation can occur if the subject is too close.
If [Highlight] of the [Setup] menu is set to [ON], regions of white saturation will blink
black and white when you play back or use Auto Review. In this case, we recommend
that you adjust [Flash Adjust.] (→153) in the minus direction and record the pictures
again.
Flash is fixed to [ ] when the [Conversion] (→154) is set to [ ] or [ ].
We recommend using an optional external flash when recording a distant subject.
