8.Recording Motion Pictures

Recording in Slow or Fast Motion ([Variable Frame Rate])

Applicable modes:

You can record slow motion or fast motion pictures by changing the frame rate. In [Variable Frame Rate], you can set the frame rate for recording.

Slow motion pictures (overcrank recording)

Used in scenes such as climaxes, a slow motion effect creates a dramatic impression. Set a frame rate that provides more frames than the recording frame rate in [Rec Quality] does.

Example: If you set [FHD/100M/24p] to [48fps] and record a motion picture, a slow motion effect of 1/2 can be gained.

Fast motion pictures (undercrank recording)

A fast motion effect is used in scenes showing the flow of clouds, people standing in the middle of crowds, etc. Set a frame rate that provides less frames than the recording frame rate in [Rec Quality] does.

Example: If you set [FHD/100M/24p] to [12fps] and record a motion picture, a quick motion effect of 2k can be gained.

This function is available only when the camera is set to Creative Video Mode.
