Sports mode

For slow-motion playback or playback pause of recorded pictures, this mode helps diminish camera shake.

During normal playback, the image movement may not look smooth.

Color or brightness of the screen might change under fluorescent light, mercury light or sodium light, etc.

You may see a band of light around an object that is shining very bright, or highly reflective.

If the brightness is insufficient, the sports mode does not function. The [ ] display flashes.

If this mode is used indoors, the screen may flicker.

Portrait mode

If this mode is used indoors, the screen may flicker. If so, change the scene mode setting to [OFF].

Low light mode

The shutter speed is 1/30 or more. (When [24pDIGITAL CINEMA] is [ON], it is 1/24 or more.)

Extremely dark scenes may not be able to be recorded finely.

Spotlight mode

If the recording subject is extremely bright, the subject may become washed out and the periphery extremely darkened.

Snow mode

If the subject is extremely bright, the recorded image may become washed out.

Beach mode

If the subject is extremely bright, the recorded image may become washed out.

Sunset mode

The shutter speed is 1/30 or more. (When [24pDIGITAL CINEMA] is [ON], it is 1/24 or more.)

Image may get blurry when close object is recorded.

Fireworks mode

The shutter speed is 1/30. (When [24pDIGITAL CINEMA] is [ON], it is 1/24.)

Image may get blurry when close object is recorded.

Image may get washed out when recorded in bright surrounding.

Scenery mode

Image may get blurry when close object is recorded.

Wind noise reduction

This is for reducing the wind noise coming into the built-in microphones depending on the wind strength.

Set the AUTO/MANUAL switch to MANUAL. (l 64)

Select the menu. (l 29)

[RECORD SETUP] # [WIND CUT] # [ON]

When the AUTO/MANUAL switch is set to AUTO, [WIND CUT] is set to [ON].

The sound quality may be changed if this function is activated in strong winds. However, the sound quality is automatically restored to the original quality when then the wind weakens.
