9.8 Network features (LAN connection only)
These features can be programmed only through the web browser interface.

features

Setting the community
name for SNMP
[SNMP]Enter the SNMP community name. Consult your
service provider or network ad ministrator for details.

Displaying the link local
address
[IPv6]The link local address will be displayed.
Displaying the IP
address for auto

[IPv6]The IP address for auto configuration will be displayed.

[IPv6]Enter the IP address for IPv6. Consult your service
provider or network administrator for details.
Setting the default
router for IPv6
[IPv6]Enter the default router address for IPv6. Consult your
service provider or network ad ministrator for details.
Setting the FTP server
information
[FTP Feature]Enter the FTP server information to carry out the
following functions:
– Sending scanned images to a folder on an FTP
server (page 34).
– Saving the fax document in a folder on an FTP
server (page 49).
Setting the e-mail server
information
[E-Mail Feature]Enter the e-mail server and SMTP server information to
carry out the following functions:
– Sending scanned images from the unit via an e-mail
(page 34).
– Saving the fax document as an e-mail attachment
(page 49).
Registering the e-mail
destinations (via an e-
mail server)
[E-Mail Feature]Register e-mail destinations (up to 300 destinations) for
the unit. See page 63, 68 for details.
Setting the error notify
feature
[Error Notify][Enabled]: The unit will send an e-mail to registered
destinations when a problem occurs.
[Disabled] (default): Deactivates this feature.
Setting the information

[Error Notify]Enter the e-mail server and SMTP server information to
send error notification e-mails to.
Registering
destinations for the
error notify feature
[Error Notify]Enter the e-mail address to which error notifications will
be sent and select the types of problems.
[Life Warning]: A warning indicating that the toner
cartridge, drum cartridge or waste toner cartridge
needs to be replaced soon.
[Media Path Error]: An error indicating that there is a
problem with the paper input tray.
[Life Error]: An error indicating that the t oner cartridge,
drum cartridge or waste toner cartridge needs to be
replaced.
