6 To select a folder, touch to show the folder one level higher and touch a folder name on the list.

#You can also select the next or previous folder by pressing aor bbutton (FOLDER) on the re- mote control.

#To return to folder 001 (ROOT), press and hold BAND. However, if folder 001 (ROOT) contains no files, playback commences with folder 002.

#You cannot select a folder that does not have a compressed audio file recorded in it.

Notes

!When playing discs with compressed audio and audio data (CD-DA) such as CD-EXTRA and MIXED-MODE CDs, both types can be played only by switching mode between com- pressed audio and CD-DA by touching MEDIA or pressing BAND. This function can be operated only when the disc is playing.

!If you have switched between playback of compressed audio and audio data (CD-DA), playback starts at the first track on the disc.

!This DVD player can play back a compressed audio recorded on CD-ROM. (Refer to page 118 for files that can be played back.)

!There is sometimes a delay between starting up disc playback and the sound being issued. When being read, FORMAT READ is dis- played.

!Playback is carried out in order of file number. Folders are skipped if they contain no files. (If folder 001 (ROOT) contains no files, playback commences with folder 002.)

!This unit does not play back WMA files re- corded as VBR (variable bit rate).

!When playing back files recorded as VBR (variable bit rate) files, the play time will not be correctly displayed if fast forward or reverse operations are used.

!If the inserted disc contains no files that can be played back, NON-PLAYABLE DISC is dis- played.

!When playing a compressed audio disc con- taining more than 192 tracks, READY ap- pears on the information bar for the track titles of 193rd and later.

!If the inserted disc contains WMA files that are protected by digital rights management (DRM) , TRACK SKIPPED is displayed while the protected file is skipped.

!If all the files on the inserted disc are secured by DRM, PROTECT is displayed.

!Once PROTECT is displayed for playing discs secured by DRM, switching from audio data (CD-DA) to WMA files may become a trigger to lock the list touch panel keys. In such case, touch LIST to turn the list display off and then touch LIST again to turn it on. The list touch panel keys should be reactivated.

!When a disc contains both WMA files which are protected by DRM and audio data (CD- DA), both types cannot be switched. In this case, only audio data will be played back.

!There is no sound on fast forward or reverse.

!If you do not use the touch panel keys within

30 seconds, they will be hidden auto- matically.

Stopping playback

%Touch g.

#When you stop compressed audio playback by touching g, that location on the disc is memor- ized, enabling playback from that point when you play the disc again.

#To play back the disc again, touch f.

Pausing compressed audio playback

Pause lets you temporarily stop disc playback.
