2.0Handling Precautions

2.1Installation Site

Select an installation site with a flat, solid surface. Check the area for the following conditions:

Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, spotlights or too near to a heater

Beware of high humidity locations or sites exposed to large amounts of dust

Avoid close proximity to a bathroom or a kitchen

Maintain a distance from any large electrical apparatus (refrigerator, air conditioner. etc.)

Stay away from uneven or unsteady surfaces (if a surface is not flat, first put down a hard plate or a similar support surface)

Allow access to all sides of the unit for service and maintenance

Do not places objects directly on top of the Changer

2.2Unpacking and Handling

When handling the unit, be aware of the following factors:

Avoid scratching, staining or leaving fingerprints on the signal surface or the recording surface of the discs

Insert and process a single disc at a time when using a mail slot

Issue the SCSI command, INITIALIZE ELEMENT STATUS, after unloading or loading a magazine

The Changer manages the physical discs but not the content on the discs

Use Pioneer-recommended discs when working with a DVD Writer (please note that data recorded on to these disc is not covered by the warranty)

Avoid stacking units or placing heavy objects on top of the unit

The Changer supports 12cm discs only (inserting 8cm or 5cm discs may cause disc detection errors and damaged discs)

2.3Condensation

Water may form in the Changer if the environmental temperatures fluctuate beyond the suggested range. For example, increasing the room temperature abruptly may cause condensation. If condensation forms within the Changer, leave the Changer for one hour in the room or increase the room temperature gradually before attempting to use it.

2.4Cleaning the Changer

To clean the panels and the cover, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe off dust and dirt. If the cabinet is heavily soiled, wipe off the dirt using a soft cloth soaked in a mild detergent that has been diluted several times. Then, wipe off the dampness with a fresh dry cloth. Avoid using
