Playing DivX files

Watching a DivX

These are the basic steps necessary to play a DivX with your DVD player. More advanced DivX operation is explained starting on page 34.

 



1Folder number indicator

Shows the folder number currently playing.

2File number indicator

Shows the file number currently playing.

3Play time indicator

Shows the elapsed playing time of the current file.

4Media indicator

Basic Operations

1 Press aor bto select a folder.

#To return to folder 01 (ROOT), press and hold BAND. However, if folder 01 (ROOT) contains no files, playback commences with folder 02.

2To perform fast forward or reverse, press and hold mor n.

If you continue pressing mor nfor five seconds, the icon mor nis highlighted. When this happens, fast reverse/fast forward continues even if you release mor n. To resume playback at a desired point, press

f.

# Fast forward/fast reverse may not be possible at certain locations on some discs. If this hap-

pens, normal playback automatically resumes.

# This is fast forward and reverse operation only for the file being played. This operation is can- celed when the previous or next file is reached.

3 To skip back or forward to another file,
press oor p.
Pressing pskips to the start of the next file.		Operating
Pressing oonce skips to the start of the cur-
rent file. Pressing again will skip to the pre-
vious file.
Track numbers are displayed for eight sec-
onds.		this
4 To stop playback, press g.

#	To resume playback, press f.
#	If the remote control is set to DVH, gdoes

not operate.

Notes

!This DVD player can play back a DivX file re- corded on CD-R/RW/ROM and DVD-R/RW/ ROM. (Refer to page 88 for files that can be played back.)

!Playback is carried out in order of file number. Folders are skipped if they contain no files. (If folder 01 (ROOT) contains no files, playback commences with folder 02.)

!There is no sound on fast forward or reverse.

Selecting a file directly

When using the remote control, you can select a file directly by entering the desired file num- ber.

!To perform this function, set the remote control to DVH mode.

1 Press DIRECT.

File number input display appears.

2Press 0 to 9 buttons to enter the desired

file number.

# You can cancel the input number by pressing

CLEAR.

3Press DIRECT.

The file of entered number will play.
