!Thecenter speaker largely determines the
soundimage and getting the balance right
isn’teasy. We recommend reproducing a 2-
ch.audio (a CD for example) and getting
thebalance right among the speakers ex-
ceptfor the center, and then reproducing a
5.1-ch.audio (Dolby Digital or DTS) and ad-
justingthe center speaker output to the
balanceyou have already got among the
otherspeakers.
1 PressAUDIO and hold until AT EQ ap-
pearsin the display, then press AUDIO to
selectPEQ-2.
#AdjustedPEQ-2 settings are memorized in
CUSTOM1.
2 Pressaor bto select the speaker to be
adjusted.
Eachpress of aor bselects the speaker in
thefollowing order:
FRT(front speakers)—CENT (center speaker)
—REAR(rear speakers)
#Youcannot select speakers whose size is set
atOFF. (Refer to Setting the speaker setting on
page76.)
3 Pressdand then press aor bto select
theequalizer band to be adjusted.
Eachpress of aor bselects equalizer bands
inthe following order:
LOW(low)—MID (mid)—HI (high)
4 Pressdand then press aor bto select
thecenter frequency of selected band.
Eachpress of aor bselects the frequency in
thefollowing order:
40—50—63—80—100—125—160—200—
250—315—400—500—630—800—1k—
1.25k—1.6k—2k—2.5k—3.15k—4k—5k—
6.3k—8k—10k—12.5k(Hz)
5 Pressdand then press aor bto adjust
theequalizer level.
Eachpress of aor bincreases or decreases
theequalizer level. +6 to –6is displayed as the
levelis increased or decreased.
6 Pressdand then press aor bto select
thedesired Q factor.
Eachpress aor bswitches between the fol-
lowingQ factor:
WID(wide)—NAR (narrow)
#Youcan adjust parameters for each band of
theother speakers in the same way.
7 PressBAND to return to the playback
display.
Note
Youcan select a center frequency for each band.
Youcan change the center frequency in 1/3-oc-
tavesteps, but you cannot select frequencies that
haveintervals shorter than 1 octave among the
centerfrequencies of the three bands.
