Configuring Printer Properties

Using th e p r o pe rtie s window pr ov ided by th e Pr inte r s
configuration, you can change the various properties for your
machine as a printer.

Open the Unified Driver Configurator.
If necessary, switch to Printers configuration.

Select your machine on the available printers list and click
Properties
.

The Printer Properties window opens.
The followin g fi ve tabs display at th e to p of the w ind o w :
General
: allows you to chan ge th e pr inter location an d
name. Th e name en ter e d in this tab displa ys on th e
printer list in Printers configuration.
Connection
: allows you to view or select another port. If
you change the printer port from USB to parallel or vice
versa while in use, you must re-configure the printer port
in this tab.
Driver
: allows yo u to v iew o r select an oth e r pr inter
driver. By clicking
Options
, you can set the default
device options.
Jobs
: shows the list of print jobs. Click
Cancel job
to
cancel the selected job and select the
Show completed
jobs
check box to see previous jobs on the job list.
Classes
: shows the class that your printer is in. Click
Add to Class
to add y o u r printe r to a spe cific class or
click
Remove from Class
to remo ve the printer from the
selected class.

Click
OK
to apply the ch ang es and close th e Printer
Properties Window.

Printing a Document

Printing from Applications

There are a lot of Linux app licat ions that you are allowed to
print from u si n g Commo n U NIX Printing S y ste m (CUPS) . You
can print on your machine from any such application.

From the application you are using, select
Print
from the
File
menu.

Print
directly using
lpr
.

In the LPR GUI window, select the model name of your
machine from the Printer list and click
Properties
.

Change the printer and print job properties.
Click.
