Viewing information about the disc in the display

You can check the playing time and remaining time of the current track or that of the disc. When a DVD/CD-TEXT disc or a disc with MP3 audio tracks or JPEG image file is loaded, you can also check the information recorded on disc, such as the titles.

Checking the remaining time and titles (DVD/VIDEO CD/CD/ Super Audio CD/MP3/JPEG)

Press DISPLAY on the DVD player during Normal Play.

Each time you press the button, the display changes cyclically as follows:

Notes

ID3 tags support only version 1.

When an ID3 tag is recorded on the current MP3 file, the ID3 information appears in place of the track title (file name).

The ID3 tag character code conforms to ASCII and ISO9660. Joliet format discs display only in ASCII. Characters that do not support ASCII or ISO9660 are not displayed correctly.

When the MP3 bit rate is VBR (Variable Bit Rate), the MP3 elapsed playing time and remaining time may not be displayed correctly.

*1 Depending on the disc or play mode, the disc information may not be displayed.

*2 Only alphabet letters and numbers can be displayed. The disc that does not include the alphabet information is skipped.

*3 After a short time, the display returns to the top item.

*4 When playing VIDEO CDs with PBC functions, only the playing time of the scene is displayed.

*5 These are not displayed during Shuffle Play or Program Play.

*6 When the text information finishes scrolling, the display returns to the top item.

Checking the remaining time and titles (MD)

Press DISPLAY on the MD deck during Normal Play.

Each time you press the button, the display changes cyclically as follows:

*1 When the Group Function is on, the remaining time of all tracks in the group is displayed.

*2 Only when the track is labelled.
