Chapter 5: Advanced Serverboard Setup

Watch Dog Enable/Disable

JWD controls the Watch Dog function. Watch Dog is a system monitor that can reboot the system when a software application hangs. Jumping pins 1-2 will cause WD to reset the system if an application has frozen. Close pins 2-3 to have Watch Dog generate an NMI (non-maskable interrupt). See the table on the right for jumper settings. Watch Dog must also be enabled in BIOS.

To use an external speaker, remove the jumper and connect the speaker wires to pins 4 (+5V) and 7 (control signal). See the table on the right for settings and the table associated with the Power LED/ Keylock/Speaker connection (previ- ous section) for jumper settings.
