Service Safety Summary

DoNot ServiceAlone. Do not performinternal service or adjustments of this
product unless anotherperson capable of rendering first aid and resuscitation is
present.
DisconnectPower. To avoid electric shock, switch off the instrument power,then
disconnect the powercord from the mains power.
UseCaut ionW hen Servicingt he CRT.To avoid electric shock or injury,use
extremecaution when handling the CRT. Only qualified personnel familiarwith
CRT servicing procedures and precautions should remove or install the CRT.
CRTsretain h azardousvoltages for long periods of time after power is turned off.
Before attemptingany servicing, discharge the CRT by shorting the anode to
chassis ground. Whendischarging the CRT, connect the dischargepath to ground
and then the anode.R ough handlingmay cause the CRT to implode. Do not nick
or scratchthe glass or subject it to undue pressure when removing or installing it.
When handling theC RT,wear safety goggles and heavy gloves for protection.
UseCar e When Servicing With Power On. Dangerous voltages or currentsmay
exist in this product.Disconnect power, remove battery (if applicable),and
disconnect test leadsbefore removing protective panels, soldering, or replacing
components.
Toavoid electric shock, do not touch exposed connections.
X-Radiation. Toavoid x-radiation exposure, do not modify or otherwise alter the
high-voltage circuitryor the CRT enclosure. X-ray emissions generated within
this product havebeen sufficiently shielded.
