6. SPAN/DIV
Twopush-button switches (left and right) that select the calibrated span per
division. Each span is indicatedby a front-panel LED.
FULL --Provides a span of 50 MHz per division for the L--Band(900 --2000
MHz) input, and 5 MHz perdivision (45 to 100 MHz) for the 70 MHz input.
10 MHz --Sets display span to 10 MHz per division. Displays a maximum
of 120 MHz for one full sweep (not availablefor the 70 MHz input). The
100 MHz portion of thesweep that is displayed is dependent on the setting
of the HORIZONTALPOSITION control.
1 MHz --Sets display span to 1 MHz per division. Displays a maximum of
12 MHz for onefull sweep. The 10 MHz portion of the sweep that is
displayed is dependenton the setting of the HORIZONTAL POSITION
control.
100 kHz --Sets display span to 100 kHz per division. Displays a maximum
of 1.2 MHz for one full sweep. The 1 MHz portion of the sweep that is
displayed is dependenton the setting of the HORIZONTAL POSITION
control.
MENU --When both SPAN/DIV switches arepressed simultaneously, the
normal display is replaced by the Main menu. To exit the Main men u,
position the cursor by EXIT and press the INPUT switch. The Menu
functions are discussed in detail later in this s ection.
7. FOCUS
A variablecontrol that adjusts the crt beam for optimum definition.
8. SCALE
A variable controlthat adjusts the level of graticule illumination.
9. INTENS
A variable controlthat adjusts the display brightness.
10. TRACE ROTATION
A screwdriveradjustment that aligns the crt trace with the crt graticule to
compensatefor variations in the magnetic field surrounding the 1705A.
